okay, so maybe nobody’s died yet…but you know it’s bound to happen. i’m talking about that little stretch of ave. cesar chavez between the interstate and the pit (unm basketball arena) where the sidewalk has been missing in action for years (for…ever?).
first of all, sidewalks? wtf? generally considered worse than useless by savvy cyclists such as ourselves, they do serve one purpose…. now going westbound on chavez, sidewalks aren’t an issue when you’re bombing the hill @ 30mph. but if it’s 5pm, and you’re going east, i’d sure feel safer on a sidewalk next to all those fresh off the freeway asshaulers and blind curves. i almost never ride on the sidewalk…only coming up central on that rare occasion. if there was one other place in town i would ride it, that would be past lobo village on chavez.
“Live like you mean it at Lobo Village, the best in Albuquerque student living! At Lobo Village you will have the privacy and lifestyle you deserve in a student community that is built specifically with you, the college student, in mind. Unless of course, you want to walk on our side of the street.”
hey, cabq. hey, unm. hey, american campus communities…a fuckin’ sidewalk would be nice.
